Each year the Don Dunstan Foundation presents the annual Lowitja O’Donoghue Oration, named in honour of Dr O’Donoghue, who presented the inaugural oration in 2007 on Black and White Together, We Shall Overcome, Some Day.
Don Dunstan used a speech in Melbourne on 24 July 1978 to announce that his government would legislate for land rights for the Pitjantjatjara people.
